Our founding partner and supporter, the University of Tsukuba is a new concept university located in Tsukuba Science City. Taking full advantage of being at the heart of Japan’s premier science city, the university has developed innovative systems in research, education and management. Over the years, it has flourished as one of Japan’s top research universities in diverse fields such as the humanities, social sciences, natural and life sciences, engineering, medicine, sports sciences, arts and design; boasting Nobel laureates, Olympic and Paralympic medalists as well as successful entrepreneurs amongst its faculty and graduates.
Japan Institutional Gateway is supported by the University of Tsukuba and is currently accepting expressions of interest from other Japanese teaching and research institutions to affiliate with. If you are interested in discussing affiliation, please contact us at partnerships@f1000.com
Scope of this gateway
- Research Articles, Method Articles, Antibody Validation Articles, Reviews, Systematic Reviews, Clinical Practice Articles, Case Reports, Opinions, Study Protocols, Registered Reports, Software Tool Article, Brief Reports; Data Notes, Correspondence Articles.
- For researchers in the humanities and social sciences, it is possible to publish not only in English but also in Japanese.
Eligibility for publication
- At least one author on the article must be an academic, or a research professional, or a member of teaching or research staff employed by or otherwise affiliated to the University of Tsukuba or one of the affiliate institutions of Japan Institutional Gateway.
- Students are expected to publish with their supervisor.
Article processing charges (APC)
- For those affiliated with the University of Tsukuba, the corresponding author is responsible to pay the APC using his/her corporate credit card.
- For others affiliated with Japan Institutional Gateway, F1000 will send an APC invoice (USD) to the corresponding author. The invoice can be paid by bank transfer, corporate credit card, or other credit cards.

- 全分野の研究論文, 研究方法論文, 書評, ソフトウエア/ツール開発, 短報, データノート, 論評/評説, 意見論文/公論, システマティック・レビュー, 抗体検証記事, 症例シリーズ, 症例報告, 研究実施計画書/臨床試験プロトコル, 等, F1000Researchに投稿できるすべての論文（https://f1000research.com/for-authors/article-guidelines）（英語）
- 人文学や社会科学については、英語だけでなく日本語で論文等を出版することもできます。
投稿資格
- 著者の少なくとも一人が筑波大学またはJapan Institutional Gatewayの提携機関に所属、あるいは雇用されている研究者、教職員または研究に関わるスタッフ等であること。
- 学生は指導教員と共著で出版するのが望ましい。
論文処理料金(APC)
- 筑波大学所属の著者については、責任著者が法人クレジットカードを使ってAPCを支払います。
- その他のJapan Institutional Gateway Affiliate機関については、支払い方法に幾つかoptionがございます。Corresponding author に APC の請求書（米ドル）を送付します。銀行振込、法人クレジットカード、その他のクレジットカードで支払うことが可能です。
