“Collective data” is accumulating at a fast pace in public repositories. Case in point: the NCBI Gene Expression Omnibus, GEO, is now constituted by over 65,000 datasets encompassing 1.7 million transcriptome profiles. This area was created based on the premise that such vast amounts of publically available data can directly benefit the work of “mainstream” biomedical researchers.
Dataset collections relevant to specific research topics have been curated by subject matter experts and loaded in an interactive web tool. This tool allows seamless browsing of the data along with the relevant information about studies and samples that is necessary for its interpretation.
This resource will serve as a basis for subsequent identification of potential knowledge gaps and publication of discovery notes, research papers, posters and presentations. These reports are organized under the companion Collective Data Discovery area.
“Collective data” is accumulating at a fast pace in public repositories. The availability of these vast amounts of data provides researchers with opportunities to identify gaps in biomedical knowledge.
Collective Data Discovery compiles reports that describe knowledge gaps identified using collective data. Follow on validation studies involving data generated de novo will also be published in this channel.
A companion Collective Data Access area has also been established, in order to avail life scientists with means to interactively navigate subject matter-specific curated dataset collections.
This channel publishes original research in clinical and translational biomedicine by scientists and clinicians affiliated with the Sidra Medical and Research Center. This research spans Sidra’s five Biomedical Research Programs, which focus on biomedical informatics, clinical epidemiology, experimental biology, experimental genetics and translational medicine. Sidra Research is part of the Sidra Medical and Research Center Gateway.
Sidra Research Events publishes posters and slides presented at meetings, conferences and symposia on biomedical themes organized by Sidra Events from Sidra Medical and Research Center.
In recent years, the implementation of high throughput technologies and dedicated bioinformatic pipelines has dramatically increased our understanding of the relationship between cancer genetics and the immune system. The fusion between genetics, immunology, and cancer research has defined a new discipline: cancer immunogenomics.
Cancer Immunogenomics focuses on sharing scientific materials related to such areas of research. Features of the channel will include poster presentations, slideshows and scientific papers. Specific collections of curated tumor transcriptomic data sets (data notes) will be also be published in this area.
The introduction in recent years of high-throughput profiling technologies has made it possible to monitor molecular changes in human subjects with unprecedented depth/resolution.
This area describes methods, protocols and report findings obtained in the context of pregnancy monitoring studies involving the Sidra Medical and Research Center.
The overarching aim of such studies is to identify shifts in molecular homeostasis that may precede onset of clinical symptoms and/or adverse clinical outcomes.
A wide range of deep phenotyping platforms will be employed for transcriptome and microbiome profiling, large scale serum protein profiling and cellular repertoire characterization by multiparameter flow cytometry.
