Rapid, transparent sharing of breakthrough research is essential in fast-paced fields of study like Global Public Health, where immediate access to robust science is crucial for informing public health responses in real time.

The Global Public Health Gateway curates together all research outputs across public health and welcomes submissions in all areas of Public Health research, including:

To allow for reproducibility and increasingly align with funder policies on making data openly available, the Global Public Health Gateway mandates for authors to deposit their data openly for readers and reviewers alike via a suitable data repository. The Gateway allows for submission of public health research in a number of different article types, including Methods, Case Reports, Data Notes and Study Protocols. We also accept non-peer reviewed formats, such as Documents, Posters and Slides.

Gateway Areas
The Epidemiology & Biostatistics area focuses on research in relation to distribution and determinants of disease and health within populations, including statistical methods and applications, as well as models of disaster preparedness and response.
The Communicable Disease area supports research published across transmissible diseases, passed on via viruses, bacteria, fungi and other parasites. Topics include HIV, hepatitis, measles, influenza and tuberculosis, as well as disease epidemiology.
The Non-Communicable Disease area supports research across all chronic diseases. Topics include mental health, social determinants of health, aging, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, respiratory disease, musculoskeletal disease, dental disease and obesity.
The Diet & Nutrition area supports research covering all aspects of nutritional health.
The Environmental Health area supports research examining the relationships between humans and their environment. Topics covered include environmental health equity, waste treatment, soil pollution and remediation, biowaste and environmental microbiology.
The Health Education area supports research across all topics related to education and prevention. Topics include health communication, sexual health awareness and education, promotion and protection, physical activity and injury and violence protection.
