The
Mini Hacks collection bloomed from
the Surrey Reproducibility Society’s Monthly Mini Hacks held at the University of Surrey. Each event features a 30-minute interactive coding workshop. The workshops teach one useful skill, in one theme, in one language. The rest of the event features “collaborative coding”, where attendees can write their code, ask questions, and support their peers.
The Monthly Mini Hacks were created to support an unmet need in the research community. Coding has become an increasingly sought-after skill, and proficiency in coding can make a significant difference both to the progress of your research and to your future employability. Yet there is a steep learning curve, and despite the vast array of online coding-help resources, problems are often best solved in person. Furthermore, computer science can all too often be an isolating experience with few opportunities to share the trials and triumphs of coding. The Monthly Mini Hacks addresses these points, and celebrates the growing coding community at University of Surrey and beyond.
This collection is populated with slides and documents from our Monthly Mini Hacks, articles from Surrey Reproducibility Society members, and more! We encourage you to explore our collection. For publication and collaboration inquiries please contact
