About CABANA: Computational Biology Resources for and from Latin America

The CABANA Project aims to strengthen capacity for bioinformatics research and training in Latin America, with the goal of addressing three challenges - management of communicable disease, protection of biodiversity, and improving food security. It is funded by the Global Challenges Research Fund, part of the UK AID budget.
This collection gathers products of multiple CABANA activities:
·       Documents are tutorials on main bioinformatics applications for in-class teaching or virtual training. The goal is to cover basic terms, wet-lab workflows to generate data, and bioinformatics pipelines common to many sequencing projects. Additionally, the tutorials are also translated to Spanish considering that our audience is mostly from Latin America. The interactive platform can be found here, where users can keep track of their progress.    
·       Slides are presentations from collaborators about their research together with hosts at EMBL-EBI, Latin America and other institutions.
·       Posters from collaborators attending bioinformatics international conferences.
·       Articles portraying the science behind the CABANA project.
